Our moderator was born in Columbus, Georgia and was called to preach the Gospel at Hilton Terrace Baptist Church in 1974. In 1975, he was called to his first church, Altman Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus. Since that time, he has had the privilege to be the pastor of churches in other parts of Georgia, Florida and North Carolina. He is married to Norma Ward Meadows of Columbus, and has three children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and all live in North Georgia.
Brother John received his Biblical training from Trinity Bible College in Dunedin, Florida; his A/A degree from Pasco Hernando Community College in Dade City Florida; he attended the University of South Florida, and received his B/A degree in Biblical Theology at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also has attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Luther Rice Seminary.
Brother John and his wife Norma are now the pastor family at Woodland Baptist Church in Woodland Georgia.
